Anna Korner, 97, of Powhatan Point, OH, passed on Monday November 30, 2020 at Continuing Health Care of, Shadyside, OH.
She was born on August 7, 1923 in Powhatan Point, OH; the daughter of the late Nicholas and Helen (Markovic) Matesick.
Anna was a Homemaker and Presbyterian by faith.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Waldo “Bud” Korner in 1974, two brothers; John and Nicholas “Butch” Matesick and three Great Grand Daughters, Annalise, Elizabeth and Ali Keeton.
Surviving are five daughters; Rosalie (Michael) Keeton of Zanesville, OH, Janice (“Dougie”) Knight of Powhatan Point, OH, Martha (George) Hores of Wheeling, WV, Nancy (Mark) Potts of Sardis, OH, Kristine (Jeff) Brokaw of South Park, PA; a brother Milan (Carol) Matesick of Powhatan Point, OH, two sisters, Mary “Cookie” Kriechbaum of Powhatan Point, OH, Barbara Mitchell of Myrtle Beach,SC; seven Grandchildren, 11 Great Grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Anna was a former Deacon of the First Presbyterian Church of Powhatan Point, OH, a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of both the American Legion and the V.F.W. She worked at the Cleveland Worm and Gear Company in Cleveland, OH during WW II, loved to cook and bake for family and friends as well as playing Bingo and listening to Polka Music.
The family would like to thank Valley Hospice and Continuing Health Care of Shadyside for their compassionate care of Anna.
Friends will be received on Thursday, December 3, 2020 from 11 a.m. until time of service at 1 p.m. at the Bauknecht-Altmeyer Funeral Home 186 Main Street Powhatan Point, OH.
In lieu of flowers the family has requested memorial contributions be made to the First Presbyterian Church, 100 Carrie Street Powhatan Point,OH 43942 or to Valley Hospice 10686 St. Rt. 150 Rayland, OH 43943.
The family has requested that masks are worn and social distancing be in place during the visitation and services.
