Walter ‘Caeser’ Pawloski

Walter Joseph (Caeser) Pawloski, of Shadyside, Ohio, passed away peacefully at his home on Wednesday, March 15.  He was 95 years old.

Caeser was born January 18, 1928 to Peter and Catherine (Skorupa) Pawloski in South Wheeling, West Virginia. He attended Wheeling Central Catholic Schools and was a World War II Veteran of the Navy, where he served in the South Pacific.  He retired from Wheeling Pitt Steel Company after nearly 40 years of employment.  He was a proud member of the United Steelworkers of America.

The love of Caeser’s life was his wife, Delores (Pal) Pawloski, who proceeded him in death in August 25, 2022.  They were married on February 4, 1956 and celebrated 66 blessed years of marriage.

Surviving is his only child, Jay Walter Pawloski, and his wife, Karen, of Beverly, Ohio. He adored his three granddaughters, Jessica (Blake) Pottmeyer, of Marietta, Ohio; Jillian (Dirk) Dozer, of Beverly, Ohio; and Jacqueline (Ryan) Indermuhle, of Sardis, Ohio.  He was blessed with four great-grandchildren Braylin and Grady Pottmeyer, Taytum Dozer, and Hudson Indermuhle.  He is survived by several nieces and nephews.  Besides his wife Pal, he was proceeded in death by his parents and siblings Virginia Meigh, Jenny Puskus, Chester Pawloski, and Cecilia Camillo.

Caeser was a 70 year member of the Belmont Hills Country Club in St. Clairsville where he spent many days on the golf course.  He was able to golf well into his 80’s.

A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Mary’s Church in Shadyside on Monday, March 20, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. Interment to follow in Powhatan Cemetery.
