Carol Vessels McCormick, 72, of Bellaire, Ohio died Saturday, June 3, 2017 at Wheeling Hospital surrounded by her loving family. She was born July 22, 1944 in Bellaire, a daughter of the late John and Mary Burgy Vessels.

Carol was a homemaker and a Methodist by faith. She was a life member of Bellaire VFW Auxiliary serving as its Master-at-arms; Women’s Bowling League serving as the Secretary for many years until her health made her give it up. She also enjoyed playing bingo and weekend dancing.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, John Vessels; sisters, Phyllis Duffy, Mary Scott and Ellen Myers.

Surviving are her loving husband of 46 years Benjamin McCormick of Bellaire; six daughters, Amy Tanner of Bellaire, April (Tim) Rollison of Newark, OH, Angel (Gerald) Patton of Indiania, Tammy (Will) Overfield of Wooster, OH, Missy Vogeli of South Carolina and Shannon Jenkins of Zanesville, OH; special grandchildren, Dianna Trigg Brown, Doug Tanner, Cassie Rollison, Phillip Rollison, Kayla Fitzgerald and other grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; a brother, Robert (Colletta) Vessels and a sister, Norma Crawford both of Bellaire.

Friends will be received on Thursday from 2-4 & 6-8 pm at Bauknecht-Altmeyer Funeral Homes & Crematory 441 37th Street Bellaire, Ohio 43906 where funeral services will be held on Friday at 11 am with Pastor Phil Bliss and Pastor James Lish officiating. Burial at the convenience of the family.

A VFW Women’s Auxiliary service will be held Thursday at 7 pm in the funeral home.

There are many memories we have of Carol and Ben. I known her for many years. She never had an unpleasant word to say about anyone. May you now have peace from all the pain you suffered for many years. Will miss hearing from you. With deepest sympathy Jerry,Mildred,Arie (McCormick),land Zane

i will never forget the day you,and dad came to my place,and it took me surprise. I never thought that I had such wonderful parents. You welcomed me with open arms. You were always there when i just wanted to talk. You made me laugh,and I enjoyed being around you. Im going to miss talikng to you,especially for advice, I promise you will alwys be with ,and we will all take care of dad. i love you mom

Grandma I love and Miss you so much already.. every second of every min of every hour of everyday! I miss your laugh your hugs your kisses. and playing cards dice and just talking with you about everything. you were not only my grandma but you were my best friend.. Everynight it seems to get harder and harder and it never feels like this is real. I love you and miss you so much! Please watch over us all at this difficult time! Love you always and forever.

I loved sitting and talking with Carol!!! Loved playing the dice games too! Ben I am so sorry for your loss, I know how much you loved her, she was the best! Many hugs and prayers to you and your family at this time. Love ya!

We have not know Carol very long her husband Ben is my husband’s first cousin. But, what time I have gotten to know Carol she is a very sweet person. Our deepest sympathy goes out to Ben and the family at a trying time. God Bless and Take Care.
