Cheryl “Sherry” Columbo, 68 of Bellaire, Ohio was received into the arms of her Savior on Tuesday, September 2, 2015 at the Ohio Valley Medical Center in Wheeling, West Virginia.
She was born October 9, 1946 in Wheeling, West Virginia a daughter of the late John Leonard and Claudine Kennedy Leonard.
Sherry was a retired employee of the Bellaire School District and a member of the St. John Catholic Church in Bellaire, Ohio.
Surviving are her children, Kelly (Kevin) Columbo-Johnson of St. Clairsville, Ohio, Daniel Columbo of Bellaire, Ohio and Dana Columbo of Nashville, Tennessee, two sisters, Linda (Chester) Giffin of Bridgeport, Ohio and Johnetta (Cy) Yaegel of Bellaire, Ohio, two brothers, John (Molly) Leonard and Patrick (Lisa) Leonard both of Bellaire, Ohio. Also two grandchildren, Kevin and Gillian Johnson and her long time companion and former husband, Douglas Zonker and many nieces and nephews.
Family and friends will be received at the Bauknecht-Altmeyer Funeral Homes & Crematory 441 37th Street Bellaire, Ohio on Sunday from from 12 Noon to 4 and 6 to 8 pm. Funeral liturgy with Mass will be celebrated Monday at 11 am at the St. John Catholic Church in Bellaire, Ohio with Fr. Daniel Heusel, as Celebrant. Inurnment in the Davis Cemetery in Bellaire, Ohio at the convenience of the family.
