Daniel G. Jones, Sr. 90, of Columbus, Ohio, formerly of Bellaire, OH, died Friday, July 24, 2015 in Columbus, OH.
Daniel was born April 14, 1925 in Barton, Ohio a son of the late Richard and Beatrice Johnson Jones.
He was a retired Letter Carrier with the Bellaire Post Office, a Christian by faith, a member of the American Legion Post 52, VFW Post 626 both of Bellaire, a member of the Masonic Lodge and a WWII Army Veteran
Preceding him in death was his wife, Margaret Lucille Rieves Jones, a brother, Richard Jones Sr., and a sister Juanita Biggs.
Surviving are his children; Lemoyne (Julie) Jones of Geneva, New York, Rachael (Reynaldo) Jones-Thurston of Columbus, OH, Gabrielle (Andre) King of Ellenwood, GA, Raphael Jones of Elmira, New York, Michelle Jones of Worthington, OH, Daniel (Kira) Jones Jr. of Galloway, OH and Christopher (La’Tonia) Jones of Westerville, OH and 15 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.
Family and friends will be received Wednesday, July 29, 2015 from 2-4pm & 6-8 pm at the Bauknecht-Altmeyer Funeral Homes and Crematory, 441 37th Street, Bellaire, Ohio where services will be held at 11am Thursday, July 30 with Pastor Booker Betts of Pittsburgh, PA officiating.
Burial follows in Greenwood Cemetery Bellaire, Ohio.
Belmont County Veteran’s Association will conduct graveside military honors.
