David Murphy, 76 of Bellaire, Ohio died Tuesday November 17, 2015 at Acuity-Belmont Hospital in Bellaire, OH.
He was born January 31, 1939 a son of the late Clyde and Elsie (Trowman) Murphy in Niagara Falls, NY.
David was a veteran of the Marine Corps and worked as a welder for Navistar until his retirement in 2001. He was an avid fan of the Buffalo Bills and Duke.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and two brothers, Robert and Donald Murphy.
He is survived by his loving companion of 25 years Elda Carpenter of Bellaire, Ohio, his son David Murphy of Niagara Falls, NY and two step daughters, Lisa (Scott) Edgar of Jacobsburg, Ohio and Sherri (Keith) Davidson of Shadyside, Ohio. He is also survived by a niece Kathleen Murphy and a nephew James Murphy both of Niagara Falls, NY and a nephew Daniel Murphy of Buffalo, NY as well as three step grandchildren Nathan and Brittnee Edgar and Alyxis Davidson along with several cousins.
Family and friends will be received at the Bauknecht-Altmeyer Funeral Homes & Crematory 3900 Central Ave, Shadyside, Ohio 43947 from 10 am until time of service at 1pm on Friday November 20, 2015with Rev. David Roberts Officiating.
Burial will follow in Powhatan Cemetery where the Belmont County Veterans Association will confer full military honors.
Memorial contributions can be made to the First Presbyterian Church in Shadyside, Ohio.
