Dennie E. Bland, 70, of Bellaire died peacefully on Saturday May 13, 2017 at Liza’s Place in Wheeling, WV surrounded by his family. He was the son of Dennis W. and Marjorie McCloud Bland born in Wheeling, WV on December 11, 1946.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Gladys Bland Dunfee and brothers-in-law, Ronald Klee Adams and Tony Vinskovich.
He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Vickie (Virginia) Vinskovich , four daughters, Denise (Rob) Srock of Mingo Junction, OH, Denette (Scott) Callahan of Batesville, IN, Denielle (Kevin) Bickmeier of Cannonsburg, PA and Denianne (Steve) Gardner of Cincinnati, OH. In addition he is survived by 7 grandchildren, Katie and Andy Srock, Riley and Sean Callahan, Sophia and Kenden Bickmeier and Molly Gardner, as well as 3 nieces, 3 nephews, 3 great-nieces, 4 great-nephews, 4 great-great-nieces and 3 great-great-nephews. He is also survived by his sister Peggy Bland Adams and brother-in-law JosephVinskovich and sister-in-law, Dana (Steve) Hoffman.
Dennie was retired from the former First Energy R. E. Burger Plant Shadyside, Ohio and the Bauknecht-Altmeyer Funeral Homes and Crematory, a lifelong member of IBEW Local # 350. He was a 1964 Graduate of Bellaire High School, past president of Burger Federal Credit Union, past president of Sacred Heart Parish Council, past president of Sacred Heart Holy Name Society, past president of the Bellaire High School Alumni Association. Dennie was a 20 year volunteer fire fighter and EMT with Neffs Volunteer Fire Department and 15 year volunteer girls basketball coach for St. John Girls grade school. Member of the Bellaire Sons of Italy, Rotary Club Bridgeport, Ohio, an avid bowler, and a member of Sacred Heart Church in Neffs, Ohio.
Family and friends will be received at the Bauknecht-Altmeyer Funeral Homes – 441 37th Street, Bellaire, Ohio 43906 on Tuesday May 16, 2017 from 1pm- 8 pm. A vigil service will be held at 7:45 that evening with Fr. Daniel Heusel. Funeral liturgy with Mass will be held at 11am Wednesday May 17 at Sacred Heart Church in Neffs, Ohio with Fr. Daniel Heusel officiating.

We were so sorry to hear of Denny’s passing. Dad (Jump Lovejoy) always had such kind words to say about a fellow “Ohio Edison” employee. Our thoughts and prayers go to the entire family.

Our class, our Hill neighborhood and the entire community has lost one of the best of humanity…….Denny was loved and respected by all who were fortunate to know him. To Vickie, Danielle, Dennette, Denianne and Denise I extend our deepest sympathy. You are a beautiful group of ladies and he left you as a testament to his life. I am so happy to have seen you today but so sad to say good-bye. He will not be forgotten ladies.
