Doris Jean Fortuna Stidd, 81, of Bannock, OH died June 15, 2018 at Ohio Valley Medical Center, Wheeling, WV. She was born July 9, 1936 in Crescent, OH a daughter of the late Frank and Pearl Ego Fortuna.

Doris was a hard worker starting out at Marsh Co., Wheeling, a waitress at Elby’s, desk manager at the Floridian Motel, A&P Grocery store, a nurse at Oakview and Star Nursing Homes, a rural mail carrier for many years, and a Times Leader carrier. Doris was also the owner/operator of Stidd’s Trailer Court in Uniontown, OH.

She was a Christian by faith and had a deep love for Jehovah God and his son Christ Jesus and lived her life with quality of love. She liked to dance, polka parties, square dancing and was a member of Ohio Valley Cloggers. She loved auctions.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Stanley Fortuna; a son, Craig Stidd; a grandson, Kirk Mayhew.

Surviving are her children, Kimberly Ann (Harland) Snyder, Kirk Alan Stidd all of Uniontown, Lea Michele (Michael) Kolakowski of Flushing, OH; sisters, Madelyn (Paul) Witsberger of Maynard, Joan Mora Pinto of Middleburg Heights, OH; brothers, Frank (Edith) Fortuna of Sun City West, AZ and Paul (Marianne) Fortuna of Maynard; 10 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren.

Friends will be received on Monday from noon until time of service at 3:30 pm at Beck-Altmeyer Funeral Home & Crematory 204 West Main Street St. Clairsville, OH with Brother Joe Witsberger officiating. Burial will follow in Holly Memorial Gardens, Pleasant Grove, OH.

I am so sorry to have not attended Doris’s funeral. I just found out the details today, 6-19-18. Our sincerest condolancies to the entire family. She and I worked at PO for many years. I will miss her. BIll Schaal
