Doris Maxine Newell, 76 of Bellaire, Ohio died Saturday, February 13, 2016 at the Wheeling Hospital in Wheeling, West Virginia.

She was born in Mead Township, Belmont County, Ohio on March 12, 1939 a daughter of the late Roy and Isabelle Hoke Whitlatch.

Maxine was a Protestant by faith and a homemaker.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William D. Newell on July 17, 1994; three sisters, Dollie Conner, Shirley Barker and Margie Whitlatch, granddaughter, Alicia Newell, son-in-law, Gerald Van Scyoc and beloved adopted grandson, Caine Hoffman.

Surviving are her children, Tina L. Newell and William R. (Snow Wilson) Newell both of Bellaire, Ohio, sister, Lena Lewis of Dilles Bottom, Ohio. Also one grandson, Anthony Cunningham Newell, step grandchildren, Kayla Wilson of Nashville, TN and Matthew Wilson of Bellaire, great grandchildren. Andrew, Jordan, Riquarri and Avonte.

Family and friends will be received at the Bauknecht-Altmeyer Funeral Homes & Crematory 441 37th Street Bellaire, Ohio on Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 pm where services will be held on Thursday at 11 am with Pastor Gerald Blon, officiating.

Interment in the Powhatan Cemetery in Powhatan Point, Ohio.
