Dorothy Jane Dixon, 62 of Shadyside, Ohio died Wednesday, June 8, 2016 at her home surrounded by her loving family.
She was born November 8, 1953 in Glen Dale, West Virginia a daughter of the late Austin and Barbara Lemons Carney.
Dorothy was a nurse’s aide at the Wheeling Hospital and a Methodist by faith.
The family would like to thank the staff of Amedisys Hospice for the kindness, care and comfort they provided to Dorothy.
Surviving are her husband, Robert L. Dixon, her daughters, Tina Dixon and Michelle Dixon both of Shadyside, Ohio, one brother, Austin E. Carney of Rayland, Ohio and two sisters, Linda Carney of Wheeling, West Virginia and Twila Gordon of Kansas. Also her grandson, Cody Dixon-Rushman and several nieces and nephews.
Family and friends will be received at the Bauknecht-Altmeyer Funeral Homes & Crematory 3900 Central Avenue Shadyside, Ohio on
Saturday from 6 to 8 pm and Sunday from 12 to 3 and 6 to 8 pm where services will be held on Monday at 1 pm with Rev. James Hoff officiating. Interment in the Mt. Zion Cemetery at Key, Ohio.

Dorothy was always a fisty woman and always fun to be around she was taken to soon from her family and friends she is at peace now she will be sadly missed by our family and love and prayers and peace to her family

Dorothy younwere one of the most caring people . you took care of everyone yiu csme across. You were much older than me so i dont have memories of us foing things as cousins but im sorry that noone told me you hsd cancer i wont be able to attend your viewing or funeral i am not able to be around some people sorry.RIP and God Bless
