Edward Piatek, 93, of Fairpoint, OH died Thursday, August 6, 2015 at Forest Hill Nursing Home, St. Clairsville, OH. He was born December 26, 1921 in Fairpoint a son of the late Jacob and Anelia “Nellie” Markiewicz Piatek.
Ed was the Owner/Operator of Piatek’s Night Club in Fairpoint, a Catholic by faith, a member of American Legion Post 159 and was in the US Marine Corp stationed on Pearl Harbor when the Japanese attacked on December 7, 1941.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by sisters, Victoria Kotwis, Wanda Bartolo and Dolores Buza; brothers, Alex, Joseph and Matthew Piatek.
Surviving are several nieces and nephews and many great-nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received Monday from 10 am until time of service at noon at Beck-Altmeyer Funeral Home & Crematory 204 West Main Street St. Clairsville with Fr. Ed Maxfield officiating. Burial follows in Union Cemetery, St. Clairsville with full Military Honors conducted by the Belmont County Veterans Association.
