Ellen H. DiStefano, 79 of Shadyside, Ohio died Saturday, February 27, 2016 at the Ohio Valley Medical Center in Wheeling, West Virginia.
She was born September 13, 1936 in Wheeling, West Virginia a daughter of the late Kenneth and Velma Johnson Hoover.
Ellen was a retired registered nurse with the Ohio Valley Medical Center, she attended St Mary Catholic Church in Shadyside and was a 1957 graduate of the Ohio Valley General Hospital’s School of Nursing.
Surviving are her husband, Philip P. DiStefano, whom she married on June 2, 1956; four children, Phil (Laura) DiStefano of Tucson, Arizona, Paula Seivertson of Shadyside, Ohio, Tom DiStefano of Cleveland, Ohio and David (Karen) DiStefano of Columbus, Ohio, two sisters, Ranelle DePaulis and Alta (Irvin) Harding both of Shadyside, Ohio. She was a loving grandmother to her four grandchildren, Michelle, Ally, Tim, Carly and many nieces and nephews.
Family and friends will be received at the Bauknecht-Altmeyer Funeral Homes & Crematory 3900 Central Avenue Shadyside, Ohio on Friday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 pm. Funeral liturgy with Mass will be celebrated on Saturday at 11 am at the St. Mary Catholic Church in Shadyside, Ohio with Fr. Samuel R. Saprano, as Celebrant. Inurnment in the Holly Memorial Gardens in Pleasant Grove, Ohio at the convenience of the family.
