George Kanopsic, 90 of St. Clairsville, Ohio died Saturday September 3, 2016 at Wheeling Hospital.

He was born April 8, 1926 a son of the late Joseph and Mary (Zusack) Kanopsic in Maynard, Ohio.

George worked for Consol Energy as a miner and served in the U.S. Army.

He was married to his wife Helen (Vargo)Kanopsic on September 25, 1948.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister Irene Barker.

He is survived by his wife and daughter Teri (Robert) Dicciardello of Parker, CO.

Family and friends will be received at the Beck Altmeyer Funeral Home 204 West Main Street St. Clairsville, Ohio 43950 on Tuesday September 6, 2016 from 4 until 7 pm where a vigil service will start at 4:15.

Funeral Liturgy with Mass will be held on Wednesday at St. Mary Catholic Church in St. Clairsville at 10 am with Fr. Ed Maxfield officiating.

Burial will follow in Union Cemetery.

We are saddened to hear of George’s passing. Prayers are being send to Helen and all the family. It is never easy to lose a loved one, and we are never ready to let go. May God bring you unending peace and help you through the hardest days ahead. Please know you are being thought of with love.
