Harry J. “Jack” Burkhart, 83, of Shadyside, OH died Monday, March 27, 2017 at Wheeling Hospital. He was born July 30, 1933 in Shadyside, a son of the late Harry and Edith Jackson Burkhart.
Jack was a retired employee of Consolidated Aluminum, and a member of First Presbyterian Church having served as an Elder, Trustee and the After School Homework Assistance Program, and a U.S. Army Veteran.
Jack was an avid fan of the Green Bay Packers, and enjoyed hunting and fishing.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, William Burkhart; sisters, Mary Jane Robertson and Mildred Alexander; a niece, Robin Davis; a nephew, Jeffery Burkhart.
Surviving are his loving wife of 57 years, Carol Dodds Burkhart of Shadyside; two nephews, David Burkhart and Jesse Davis; two nieces, Dawn (Steven) Greene and Jackie (Eric) Frankle; a sister-in-law, Alayne (Russ) Payne; several great nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received on Friday from 2-4 pm & 6-8 pm and again on Saturday from 12 pm-1 pm at Bauknecht-Altmeyer Funeral Homes & Crematory 3900 Central Avenue Shadyside where funeral services will be held on Saturday at 1 pm with Rev. David Roberts officiating. Burial will follow in Powhatan Cemetery.
