Helen C. Dye, 89 of Bellaire, Ohio died Friday, May 15, 2020 at Valley Hospice South’s Liza’s Place.
She was born March 18, 1931 in Bellaire, Ohio daughter of the late George Jacob and Elizabeth Bloch Duke.
Helen was the former housekeeper for St. John’s Catholic Church, a member of St. John’s Catholic Church and Catholic Daughters of America.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John Dye, daughter, Jane Ann Hollingshead, sister, Violet Gross and niece, Jenny Beavon.
Surviving are her sons, John (Sharon) Dye of Neffs, Ohio, Jeff (Nancy) Dye of Jacobsburg, Ohio and son-in-law, Randy Hollingshead of Brookside, Ohio. Also three grandchildren, Jonathan (Whitney) Dye of Barton, Ohio, Matthew (Alicia) Devore of Centerville, Ohio, Brandi Hollingshead of Robinson Twp, PA, three great grandchildren, Quintin, Khloe and Heath Devore and great nephew, Jason (Katie) Beavon of Lebanon, Ohio.
Family and friends will be received at the Bauknecht-Altmeyer Funeral Homes & Crematory 441 37th Street Bellaire, Ohio on Monday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 pm. Funeral liturgy with Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday at 11 am with Fr. Daniel Heusel, as Celebrant. Interment in the Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Bellaire, Ohio.

Helen was my Nanny , she adopted me like her own grandson , she had ” no filter” before it was “cool” to have no filter, she was was a saint to put up with me Jon’s poop , but she taught plenty too!! God rest your soul Nanny, I’m your find something to clean in heaven.

Helen was a great neighbor, not only when I lived with my Grandma on Harrison St & also when she moved out to the BelCapre & I lived out there! Such a sweet lady & so pleasant to talk to! Helen was a wonderful person. Her daughter Jane and I were best friends growing up. So Helen was like my Mom too in some ways. My heart breaks for John and Jeff and entire family.
