Howard E. Heslop, 76, of St Joe, Bellaire, Ohio died Saturday at Liza’s Place, Wheeling WV.

Howard was born December 30, 1940, in Bellaire, Ohio a son of the late Howard D. and Elizabeth Jones Heslop.

He was retired from the US Army after 21 years of service and was retired Superintendent of the Water and Waste Water Department of the Village of Shadyside, OH, a member of the American Legion Post #521 Shadyside, OH,; Neff’s Rod and Gun Club; Sons of Italy, Bellaire Lodge,  a Vietnam US Army Veteran and a Christian by faith.

Preceding him in death was a brother, John Heslop.

Surviving is his wife of 54 years,  Regina DeGenova Heslop, his children, Renee Wensel  and her husband Tim of Dallas Pike, WV, Steve Heslop and his wife Teresa of New Martinsville, WV, Ramona Dodrill and her husband Jimmy of Bellaire, OH a brother, Richard Heslop and his wife Teresa of Shadyside, OH, a sister, Linda Sidon and her husband John of St. Clairsville, OH, Lisa Heath and her husband Leroy of Jacobsburg, OH 8 grandchildren, and 3 great-grandchildren.

Family and friend will be received Tuesday 2-4pm & 6-8pm at the Bauknecht-Altmeyer Funeral Homes and Crematory, 441 37th Street Bellaire, Ohio where funeral services will be held at 11am Wednesday with Life Celebrant Sarah Barickman officiating.

Interment follows in Belmont Memorial Park, St Clairsville Ohio.

Belmont County Veterans Association will conduct Graveside Military Honors.

My deepest sympathy to the Heslop family. I met Mr.Heslop at Country Club Retirement CTR. and had the pleasure of taking care of him I enjoyed talking and joking with him I will miss him. Mrs.Heslop you take care glad I met you also.

Dear Linda, Richard and families: I did not know your brother but sending our love and condolences to your entire family in such a tragic loss of life for everyone. May the love of all who knew him help you through your difficult days ahead. I know what it is to lose a brother and how the memories are bittersweet. God bless you and give you strength and comfort.
