Idora Davis Kimbro, 67 of Bellaire, Ohio died Wednesday, January 2, 2019 in the Wheeling Hospital.
She was born September 16, 1951 in Birmingham, Alabama the daughter of the late Robert G. and Pauline Hill Davis, Sr.
Idora was a retired elementary teacher with the Bellaire School District after 39 years, a member of the First Baptist Church in St. Clairsville, Ohio, Delta Kappa Gamma, Bosom Buddies, and the Ohio Retired Teachers Association. She received her Bachelor of Science Degree in Education from the Ohio University and her Master’s Degree in Education from the University of Dayton.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Elizabeth Wilkerson and Barbara Wesley.
Surviving are her husband, Major Kimbro, two children, Lyndsay (Shawn Preston) Kimbro of Newport News, Virginia and Frederick (Jamie Myers) Kimbro of Turtle Creek, Pennsylvania and her sister, Roberta Fletcher of Columbus, Ohio and her brother, Robert Davis, Jr. of Martins Ferry, Ohio.
Also many nieces and nephews.
Family and friends will be received at the Bauknecht-Altmeyer Funeral Homes & Crematory 441 37th Street Bellaire, Ohio on Monday from 11 am until time of services at 1pm with Rev. Carl Denson officiating. Interment in the Belmont County Memorial Park Cemetery in St. Clairsville, Ohio.

I was so saddened to hear about the passing of Mrs. Kimbro! She was my favorite teacher. I had her in the second grade. I still have the ceramic Christmas Tree ornament that she had painted for her students one year. Such a beautiful soul! God Bless you all in this difficult time! Tonya (St. John) Grimm

I had the pleasure of meeting Idora and Major at the Pirozak cabin on Seneca Lake, many years ago. They were just Rock stars in my eyes. My sympathy to the Kimbro family.
