Inez Lucile West Hammond, 101 of Powhatan Point, Ohio passed away Saturday, December 4, 2021 in the WVU Medicine Wheeling Hospital.
She was born September 13, 1920 in Jacobsburg, Ohio daughter of the late George A. and Della E. Kriechbaum West.
Inez was retired from the First National Bank of Powhatan Point, member of the First Presbyterian Church of Powhatan Point, Ohio, OES Captina Chapter 489 and Powhatan Senior Citizens. Past member of the Board of Directors of the First National Bank of Powhatan Point, Board of Directors of Powhatan Point Community Bankshares.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James J. Hammond in 1983, sister, Ada (West) Hammond in 1977, and a nephew, Daryl Hammond in 2019. Surviving are a nephew, Gary (Candy) Hammond of Shadyside, Ohio, a great niece, Tara (Jason) Reim of Middleburg, Florida, a great nephew, Robert (Jamie) Hammond of Shadyside, Ohio and two great great nieces, Ayla Reim and Averi Hammond.
Family and friends will be received at the Bauknecht-Altmeyer Funeral Homes & Crematory 186 Main Street, Powhatan Point, Ohio on Thursday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 pm where services will be held on Friday at 11 am with Rev. David Demarest officiating.
Interment in the Powhatan Cemetery in Powhatan Point, Ohio. Order of Eastern Star services will be held on Thursday at 7 pm.

I’m so sorry for Your lost. I remember Inez well from working at the bank with My Dad all those years. She was a lovely lady and will be missed a lot by all of those who knew and loved her.
