James Edward Spitzl, 80, of St. Clairsville, OH, passed away on October 1, 2022, at Stonerise of Moundsville, WV.
He was born on August 25, 1942, to the late Charles and Edna (Poch) Spitzl in Bellaire, OH.
After high school, James obtained his Bachelor’s Degree in Mathematics from Ohio University. James retired from AEP after 35 years of handling their land acquisitions. He also enjoyed woodworking in his earlier years.
James is survived by his sister, Dorothy (Raymond) Timbrook of Shadyside, OH; two nephews, Todd (Stacey Weigand) Timbrook of Shadyside, OH, Troy Timbrook of Columbus, OH, and four cousins: Robert Poch, Mary Blacker, John Poe, and Lori Poch.
A private inurnment will be held at Powhatan Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
Bauknecht-Altmeyer Funeral Home-Shadyside Chapel is handling the arrangements for the Spitzl family.
My deepest sympathies to Jim’s family. I worked with Jim for awhile at AEP. He definitely was a character and he took his job responsibilities very serious.
