I was so very sad to see this today. We’ve known each other since we were kids. I had family on West 23rd Street & also Brooks Run. I didn’t know he had been in hospital for so long. I, too, have been in & out of hospital so many times this year that I’ve lost count. Still on IV antibiotics at home. When I got to feeling better, I was going to talk to Pastor Jim about performing my own funeral service. I deeply regret that because of my illnesses, I will be unable to attend Jim’s funeral, I will be there in heart & spirit. My deepest & sincerest condolences to his family.

I met Jim Lish very recently when I became a new member at his church in Bellaire. He was a good man, and a dear friend to his congregation and to those who knew him. He encouraged people to be the best they could be, and never withhold anything from improving yourself in the eyes of others.s well as helping others cope with all problems, big or small. I will miss him in the pulpit, as well as in other capacities, but now, God has broufght him home for eternity.

Jim Lish served as Pastor of the Yorkville Methodist Church from June 25th until he was hospitalized in November. In this short period, Pastor Jim had a very positive impact on the Church and all who knew him. He was a man of strong convictions. His fundamental beliefs coincided with ours and were deeply rooted in the Bible.  He will be remembered and missed at the Yorkville Methodist Church. Our prayers go out to Linda and the Lish family. God Bless.

My daughter and I are saddened by the loss of Jim. She loved working with him at the bowling alley and had much respect and trust in him. He will forever be missed by her and her BL Bowling teammates.

Have expressed it before but just wanted to share on here how sad I am at the news! Pastor Jim was more than a pastor~~he was a very good friend to me! Had a word just at the right time & I learned a lot while I was at his church! He will be missed~~by me if no one else! But I am sure many at our church are grieving this loss right now! Prayers & comfort for the family~~you always made me feel right at home! R.I.P. Pastor Jim See ya when I get there! Love ya! Judi
