James L. “Jimmy Lee” Thatcher, 71 of Wheeling, died Tuesday, November 22, 2016 at the Wheeling Hospital.
He was born December 20, 1944 in Bellaire the son of the late Ross and Helen Reese Thatcher.
He was a retired steel worker with the Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel Corporation’s Martins Ferry Mill, a member of the Brooks Run United Methodist Church in Bellaire and the USW Local 1190.
Surviving are his wife of thirty-one years Michele L. Landers Thatcher, three children, J. Christopher (Melissa) Thatcher of Moundsville, Keri Walters and Sean Thatcher both of Wheeling, and his sister, Mary Ellen Palenicek of Bellaire. Also five grandchildren, Dakoyta, Kendall, Owynn, Landen and Kolten.
Family and friends will be received at the Bauknecht-Altmeyer Funeral Homes & Crematory 441 37th Street Bellaire, Ohio on Friday from 5 pm until time of services at 8 pm with Life Celebrant, David Wright officiating.
