My condolences to Joanne and Jay on the passing of cousin Jan. Also to Carol and Mark and the rest of the family. Although I haven’t been in touch or been to Powhatan in years I still fondly remember Jan. He was very special person even then. May God give you all comfort and peace. Cousin Joyce

We have no words for the sorrow we feel for the loss of this great man. Admired by many, Respected by all, and loved by everyone who knew him. Coach had a great life and lived it well. He married the girl of his dreams and what a wonderful couple you both made . Had a son (Jaybo) and raised him to be a MAN. What more could a father ask. Prayers go out to all of you at this time but I must say I am a better man for knowing him. God Bless You All.
I’m still in shock. Loretta and me send our prayers and deepest sympathy to you Joanne, Jay and family. I never forgot this memory, Jan got my son Eddie two outfits when he was born. I always said I wanted to meet Jay and do something for him – Never Did – also tell Jay how considerate and what a great dad. God Bless.
So very sorry Joanne, my thought and prayers are with you and your family!
Joanne and family, so sorry to hear about the loss of Jan, Jan was a nice person to be around and a great basketball coach. It will be odd not to see you guys together. May prayers be with you and your family. The only negative thing that I can say about Jan is that he was a BROWNS fan.May the lord be with you at these sad times.
I am saddened with the news of Jan’s passing. He lived his life with a big personality and a strong sense of loyalty to his friends and community. He represented the town like no one else. I remember fondly the sports stories he shared. Love to Joanne, Jay, family members and endearing coworkers at Powhatan Elementary.
So sorry to hear of Jan’s passing. I have such great memories of him at River HS during my days coaching in Woodsfield in the 70s and early 80s. He was one of the funniest guys I ever met and I always looked forward to seeing him. Haven’t seen him in many years but my guess he left a wonderful family and a great many friends with a ton of memories.
Joanne , Jay & Family ,
Sorry to hear of Jan’s passing. We will keep all of you in our prayers. R I P. Mike & Aaron Longo
