Joan Antill, 85 of Powhatan Point, Ohio died Saturday May 8, 2021 at Wheeling Hospital.

She was born October 1, 1935 a daughter of the late Jacob and Lillian (Bethel) Harris – Van Fossen in Maynard, Ohio.

Joan was a graduate of Martins Ferry High School and member of the Powhatan Church of God.

Her greatest joy was her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Joan was preceded in death by her parents, step-father, Louis Van Fossen, her husband Lawrence Antill, and her siblings, Wanda Lee (infant) Paul and Charles Harris, and sister-in-law Dolly Harris.

She is survived by her children, Charles (Linda) Antill of Powhatan Point, OH, Joseph Antill of Flushing, OH, Vickie (Brian Nickerson) Ralbovsky of Wheeling, WV, Twila (Mark) Wiles of Waynesboro, PA and Cindy Antill of St. Clairsville, OH.

In addition she is survived by 2 brothers Fred and Matthew Van Fossen both of Richwood, OH, 6 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren, one great-great grandchild on the way and many nieces and nephews.

Family and friends will be received at the BauknechtAltmeyer Funeral Homes & Crematory 186 Main St. Powhatan Point, Ohio 43942 on Wednesday May 12, 2021 from 11 am until time of service at 1 pm with Pastor Terry Hoffman officiating.

Burial will follow in Powhatan Cemetery.

My Grandma, Joan Antill, was one of the sweetest, kindest people I knew. She will be missed by all who knew her. I know she is in a much better place where there is no pain and suffering. She is now watching over us. Love you Grandma! Until we meet again…

I was blessed to know this wonderful lady cause my brother was her son inlaw. She always treated me as i was family also. She was kind and sweet anf just loving. I am so very sorry Twila (Sis) for you and the rest of the familys loss.
