John “Jack” Anderson 89, of Bellaire, OH, formerly of Shadyside, OH, died Friday May 5, 2017, at Liza’s’ place.

Jack was born September 8, 1927, in Bellaire, Ohio a son of the late John and Elsie Croxton Anderson.

He was retired from the former International Harvester Company Shadyside, OH, a member of the American Legion Post # 521 Shadyside, the Musicians Union of Wheeling, WV. He was a WWII and Korean War Navy Veteran.

He loved all types of music, was an accomplished drummer and played with various bands throughout the Ohio Valley. He and his late wife Norma loved to fish. They always shared the saying “Fish on” meaning everything was just fine.

Preceding him in death were three sisters, Mary Ellen Wheeler, Betty Woods and Nellie Gerdau.

Surviving is four daughters; Colleen (Dennis) Lee of Bethlehem, WV, Patricia Anderson of Bridgeport,OH, Jackie (Brent) Kidder of Bellaire, OH and Ellen M. (James) Johnson of Shadyside, OH , 10 grandchildren. Mark, Kevin, John, Tanner, Craig, Melanie, Karen, Christopher, Nick and Logen, 5 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Family and friends will be received Sunday from 1pm -8pm at the Bauknecht-Altmeyer Funeral Homes and Crematory, 3900 Central Avenue Shadyside, Ohio where funeral services will be held at 11am Monday with Pastor Eric White officiating,

Burial follows in Powhatan Cemetery, Powhatan PT, Ohio.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Bellaire Alumni Association, or Liza’s Place.

Belmont County Council of the American Legion will have services at 7:30pm Sunday at the funeral home.

I work at the carnes center where mr Anderson lived and he was a very nice and polite man to me. Rip my friend. We will miss you
