I was the basketball coach at Woodsfield back in the late 70s and early 80s and John officiated many of our games. He always handled the games in a professional and friendly manner. He was easy to talk to and I always looked to his games. My sympathy to his family.

So sorry for your loss. John was a fantastic friend to both my mom(Marilyn) and dad(Lynn) Marling. He was always there to give a helping hand whenever needed. When I had to return to Alaska after my dad’s heart surgery John was there to go to the rehab center with him. He was also there for my dad when my mother passed away. Jane, prayers sent to you and your family during this time.

I will miss John at track meets. He was a very good clerk and always had a joke at the ready. He always efficiently performed the duties of a clerk while keeping it in perspective for the athletes. He will be missed on the track. Prayers for the family.
