It is with heavy hearts that we must announce that Joshua Dale Conner, 37 of Woodsfield, Ohio passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, June 30, 2019.

He was born in Bellaire, Ohio on August 11, 1981 son of Connie Horn Conner and the late Dale Conner.

Josh attended River High School where he was a standout athlete with All-Ohio Honors and was a member of the River High Hall of Fame. He also served in the United States Marine Corps as a combat engineer having served overseas.

He enjoyed being outdoors, whether it was hunting, fishing, riding four wheelers, throwing a football or simply spending time with his friends and family.

His love for sports continued after high school as he played men’s softball, summer league basketball, football and any other sport he could. He also loved watching any sport, especially if his kids were involved.

In addition to his father, he was preceded by his grandmas, Hattie, Edna and Violet his grandpa, Ray, uncle Tom and aunt Brenda.

Surviving in addition to his mother are his children, Mallory, Chase, Ayden and Jaxen, sisters, Hattie and Tosha, finance’, Jess. Also, stepfather, Steve, stepsisters, Steph and Sam, aunts, Jennie, Pam, Susie, Judy, Mary Kay, uncles, Wayne, Gary, nephews, Kaden, Kasen, Michael, Karter and Braxton, nieces, Alivia and Bella and many cousins and friends who dearly loved him.

Family and friends will be received at the Bauknecht-Altmeyer Funeral Homes & Crematory 186 Main Street Powhatan Point, Ohio on Monday from 10 am until time of services at 2 pm with Pastor William Coker, Jr. officiating. Interment in the Armstrong Mills Cemetery.

I miss you. I love you. I will see you again my love, my brave marine! You should be here watching your children grow. I know where you are your free of all those worries that ate at you, but I could really use you here honey. Protect our children, guide me and this is see ya later baby!

It was very sad to hear of Josh’s passing. He was a great friend to everyone who knew him. The world lost an all around good person. So sorry for his kids and family. Rest In Peace buddy….
