Joshua “Josh” Carpenter. 34, of Shadyside, Ohio died March 17, 2018, at his home surrounded by his family after a 7-month illness from Multiple Myeloma, Plasma Cell Leukemia. Josh was born February 13, 1984, in Wheeling, WV a son of Penny (Sampson) Carpenter Swiger and the late Warren K. “Buzz” Carpenter.
Josh was the co-owner of the Buzz Inn of Shadyside, OH, a member of the Sons of the American Legion. He enjoyed video Gaming, woodworking and Alternative Country Music, and anything outdoors including, motorcycling, fishing, and mini-farming.
Preceding him in death was his father, Warren “Buzz” Carpenter, paternal grandfather Warren Carpenter and maternal grandmother, Anna Mae (Patterson) Sampson.
Surviving is the love of his life, Sommer Hans, a daughter, Jayden Jolee Jones, his mother and Step-father, Penny and Tim Swiger of Moundsville, WV, a sister, Stevie Carpenter of Shadyside, OH, paternal grandmother, Geraldine “Jeri” Carpenter of Shadyside, OH, and maternal grandfather, David Sampson of FL, Sommer’s parent’s Matt and Denise Hans of Shadyside, OH and many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
Family and friends will be received Tuesday from 2-4pm & 6-8pm at the Bauknecht-Altmeyer Funeral Homes and Crematory, 3900 Central Avenue, Shadyside, OH where funeral services will be held at 11 am Wednesday with Pastor Eric White officiating.
Burial follows in Lashley Cemetery, Shadyside, OH.
