Leah M. Salvaterra, 92 of Shadyside, Ohio formerly of Bellaire, Ohio died Monday, May 9, 2016 at the Belmont Community Hospital in Bellaire, Ohio.

She was born August 29, 1923 in Bellaire, Ohio a daughter of the late, Elmer and Alta Borchert Morrison.

Leah was a homemaker, loving wife, mother, grandmother and sister. She was a member of the St. John Catholic Church in Bellaire, Ohio, Wheeling Women’s Club, the Red Hat Society and the Quilters Guild.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Guido Salvaterra, a grandson, Joseph Eric Edzkowski and a son-in-law, Joseph A. Edzkowski.

Surviving are her children, Elrae Salvaterra of Columbus, Linda Edzkowski of Cape Coral, Florida, Mark (Anna) Salvaterra of Moundsville, West Virginia and Susan (Randy) Hintz of Weaverville, North Carolina, a sister, Edna Mae Bonar of Hannibal, Ohio and a brother, Wilbur Morrison of Bellaire, Ohio. Also three grandchildren.

Family and friends will be received at the Bauknecht-Altmeyer Funeral Homes & Crematory 441 37th Street Bellaire, Ohio on Wednesday from 5 to 8 pm. Funeral liturgy with Mass will be celebrated on Thursday at 10 am at the St. John Catholic Church with Fr. Daniel Heusel, as Celebrant. Interment in the Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Bellaire, Ohio.

To Linda and Leah’s other children I am so sorry for your loss and I remember visiting you all when you lived at the house in Bellaire by the fire house. My name is Mary Ann Alkhonsari I am John and Anna Salvaterras youngest daughter. You all have my deepest sympathy for your loss.
