Linwood “Dick” Hill, 79, of Bridgeport, Ohio, died Sunday, June 28, 2015, at Ohio Valley Medical Center, Wheeling, W.Va.

He was born July 31, 1935, in Lenoir County, N.C., a son of the late Johnnie H. and Clara M. Farmer Hill.

Dick was a retired electrician working out of I.B.E.W. #246 Hall, Steubenville, Ohio., a protestant by faith, a member of Ionic Lodge # 438 F & AM and Scottish Rite, Valley of Steubenville and proudly served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Robert “Tenny” Hill.

Surviving are his loving wife, Darlene F. Lott Hill of Bridgeport; sons, Lee (Kerri) Hill of St. Clairsville, Ohio, Forrest (Lisa) Hill of Rileyville, Va., and Richard (Theresa) Hill of Kinston, N.C.; a daughter, Beverly (Richard) Daniels of Kinston; brothers, John “J.W.” (Audie) Hill of Kinston, and Roy “Fella” (Suzanne) Hill of Fayetteville, N.C.; a sister, Mary “Sister” (Billy) Hays of La Porte, Ind.; six grandchildren; several great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at the Salvation Army Church, 2110 North Queen Street, Kinston, N.C., at a later date. Entombment of his cremated remains will be in Pinelawn Memorial Park Cemetery, Kinston.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Salvation Army in Dick’s memory.
