Wow – he was a GREAT guy – he kept our homes warm in the winter – and cool in the summer… anytime Loren was around things were cool – he could do it all – fix your hot water tank or play a song. One of a kind – there ain’t nobody else like Loren !!!!

My first memories of Loren was at the old swimming hole on Trough Run and him jumping off of the big rock. I remember his being the handsome lookalike of his father, my Uncle Ned. Time marched on and I entered High School at Bellaire and was so proud at the pole vaulting records he set for himself. Watching him, all I could think was, “Hey, that’s my cousin. Isn’t he great!” I remember Becky in one of my classes and thought she was the prettiest girl in school. Loren and she–what a beautiful couple! Though our family left Bellaire, my heart never did. Loren will always be a part of my heart as is all his family. My deepest sympathy and prayers I extend to Becky and his most beautiful children, grandchildren, and my cousins Larry Ned and Max. I love you all.

Becky and Family, I’m so sorry to hear about the passing of Loren. My thoughts and prayers are with you. He was a great guy who was very proud of his three boys, and I was fortunate enough to be able to coach Kelly. God Bless You through these difficult times!

We didn’t get to spend a lot of time with Loren, but in the short visits we had he was always eager to share his easy good nature and humor with us through both funny stories and beautiful songs. We will always remember our visits with cousin Loren (or cousin “Looorrrnn”, as he asked us to pronounce his name). We wish to give our deepest condolences to Becky, Loren, Kelly and Adrian, the extended family, and everyone who knew and loved cousin Loren. May he rest in peace with a million guitars.

Loren always treated me with a smile and a kind word. He was right there giving me guidance as I was learning to play music in Annapolis Md. And would often visit back home when we would play in the garage. Please know that Even though his voice has been silenced, his Forever Lasting Memories will be with us for our lifetimes. Our Prayers and sympathies go out to Becky, Loren, Kelley, Adrian, and all of your families. May you find comfort in knowing that Loren has left Forever memories not only for myself but for a large amount of people throughout the Ohio Valley
Rest Easy my Friend. Jack and Sharon Boston.

You will be so missed by so many… I cherish every bit of time playing music and soaking up your good nature and friendship. I’m sorry to have not spent more time doing it in recent years. God speed and hope to lean my voice on yours again someday…

My thoughts and prayers are with the Porter family. I have a lot of great childhood memories of being at their home and spending time with them. I’m especially fond of my memories of listening to Loren sing and play music, often in the kitchen of my home in Neffs. I would like to express my condolences and deepest sympathy to Becky, Loren, Kelly and Adrian.
