Vernie was one my best friends from church. She was the most sweet and generous person I have ever known. She even helped me with my quilting. I can’t wait to meet her again where we can be forever together. Miss her

Vernie was the most wonderful lady I have ever met. She was always a positive upbeat lady. My husband was her pastor a few years back and Vernie was always giving us things she had made. Her and I would go shopping but I would always drive cause she did scare me a little riding with her. There will never be another Vernie Hammond. I will truly miss her but look forward to seeing her on the other side. You had a great Mother, Grandmother, and Great Grandmother.

Vernie will always have a special place in my heart. She sewed for me and my family for more than 30 years. There was never a job too hard for her to do or fix. I watched her care for Roy and her family, and she was never too busy to do whatever she could for anyone. In all the years of knowing her, I never saw her without the biggest smile on her face! I know she is in heaven and being rewarded for her countless acts of kindness. The world needs more people like her, she will be greatly missed!
