Marlene E. Habig, 79, of Shadyside, OH died Monday, January 16, 2017 at Country Club Retirement Campus, Bellaire, OH.  She was born February 26, 1937 in Martins Ferry, OH, a daughter of the late John and Blanche Blevich Krieger.

Marlene was a retired Registered Nurse at the Ohio Valley Medical Center, Wheeling, WV; a member of Lincoln Avenue United Methodist Church, American Legion Post 521 Auxiliary and enjoyed gardening, reading and feeding wild animals.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, John Krieger.

Surviving are her husband Lawrence E. Habig of Shadyside; her children, Lawrence R. Habig of Fayettville, NC, Catherine (Wayne) Porter of Finleyville, PA, John Habig of Franklin, OH, James (Angie) Habig of Salem, OH, David (Mary) Habig of Shadyside; eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Private visitation and funeral services will be held Friday at Bauknecht-Altmeyer Funeral Homes & Crematory 3900 Central Avenue Shadyside, OH with Rev. James Hoff officiating.  Burial in Holly Memorial Gardens, Pleasant Grove, OH.

Cathy, I am so sorry to hear about the passing of your mother. I worked with her at Shadyside Care Center and she always had a smile on her face, she will truly be missed.
