Martha L. Williams, 80, of Bellaire, OH died Wednesday, February 24, 2016 at East Ohio Regional Hospital, Martins Ferry, OH. She was born July 5, 1935 in Martins Ferry a daughter of the late William and Violet Evans Polen.
Martha was a retired waitress at the Roosevelt Restaurant in Bellaire for over 20 years, was a Methodist by faith and loved to play bingo and bunco.
She was very loving to her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Mary Ann Polen; four brothers, Carl, William Robert, Arthur and Charles Polen.
Surviving are a daughter, Ruth A. (Hal) Davis of Yorkville, OH; two sons, Kenneth E. Williams of Bellaire and Michael R. (Serena) Williams of Martins Ferry; five grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received Friday from noon until time of service at 4 pm at Bauknecht-Altmeyer Funeral Homes & Crematory 441 37th Street Bellaire with Pastor James Agnew, Jr. officiating. Grama Martha. I do not even know where to begin. I can not recall a single bad memory with you. You were always there for me No Matter What. You loved and supported me unconditionally when some did not. You were a super hero to me and the other grand kids. You took the grandma status to another atmosphere. From all late night car cruises., to getting lost, to stopping for ice cream grandma you were the light in my life. What I would not do to hear you say a curse word or tell someone to shut up. Just know not a day will go by that Me and Hannah will not love you or forget about you. I take comfort in knowing 2 things you are longer suffering and to hear people tell me how proud you were of me and loved us all. Say hello to Shayne and enjoy all the free bingo.
