Mary Rose Pappano Porch, 94, of Blacklick, Ohio formerly of Bellaire and Shadyside, Ohio went to be with her Lord and Savior on October 13, 2016, surrounded by her family at the Kobacker House in Columbus, Ohio.
She was born November 1, 1921 in Bellaire, Ohio the daughter of the late Nicola “Nick” and Jennie DeFrank Pappano.
Mary Rose was a member of the St. John Catholic Church in Bellaire,OH ,CWC, IAC, Past President of the Madonna Crusaders, her special memory was when she crowned the Blessed Mother during the Church’s annual May Procession.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her high school sweetheart and husband, Francis J. “Frank” Porch on January 5, 2009, they were married on December 29, 1945, She was also preceded by three brothers, Joseph A. Pappano, 1st Lt. William A Pappano and PFC Louis V. Pappano, both who died in World War II.
She was 1939 graduate of Bellaire High School and worked as a beautician.
Surviving are her daughter, Julia (Dr. Mike) Novena of Blacklick, Ohio with whom she made her home, four grandchildren, Charity (Brad) Chelton, Jason and Brian Novena , Kimberly Novena,and two great grandchildren, Alyssa and Brady Chelton. her sister-in-law, Rosalie Durant Pappano of Bellaire, Ohio and many God children, nieces and nephews.
Mary Rose was a loving and caring mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She loved bringing her homemade pizzelles and coffee cakes to friends and family. She always had a compliment for everyone and brought a smile to everyone she met. She will be sadly missed.
Family and friends will be received from 5pm -8pm Tuesday at the Bauknecht-Altmeyer Funeral Homes and Crematory, 441 37th Street, Bellaire, OH. Funeral Liturgy with Mass will be at Noon Wednesday at St John Catholic Church, Bellaire, Ohio with Fr. Daniel Heusel as Celebrant.
Burial follows in Mt. Calvary Cemetery Bellaire, OH.
Vigil service will be at 7:45pm Tuesday.
