Phyllis Jean (Kuchinka) Teasdale, 92, passed away peacefully Wednesday, April 20, 2022 at Belmont Manor in St. Clairsville.
She was born February 19, 1930, to the late John J. and Dorothy (Kasko) Kuchinka.
Phyllis was a graduate of St. John High School and a loving wife and mother of four. When her last child was in 8th grade she began working as a clerk in the Bellaire Eastern County Court, until moving to Indiana in 1979.
She loved crafts, particularly crochet, and put her talents to good use at her new church, St. Stephen, Martyr, in Merrillville, for its various fundraisers.
She enjoyed playing pinochle with her club, working on the computer making cards for special occasions, and catching up with friends and family on her Facebook page. Phyllis recently moved back to the area to be near her daughter.
In addition to her parents, Phyllis was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 65 years, John “Jack” Teasdale, and her sister and brother-in-law Tom and Dorothy Louise (Kuchinka) Ney.
She is survived by her daughter Marion (Jeff) Stolz of Bellaire; sons John, of Fleming Island, Florida; Mark (Sandi), of Schererville, Indiana; and David (Deetra) of Highland, Indiana; grandchildren Ashley Teasdale, Lindsey (Brandon) Hunsley, Jessica (Mike) Teasdale, Jennifer (Adam) Teasdale; four great grandchildren; nieces, nephews, and her devoted friend Ruth Carter, who helped her weather the Covid years.
A special thank you to all the staff at Belmont Manor for the kindness and care shown to Phyllis during her time there.
Family and friends will be received from 4:00 to 8:00pm Friday, April 29, 2022 at the Bauknecht-Altmeyer Funeral Home, 441 37th St., Bellaire, OH 43906 740-676-1611. Mass of Christian Burial will be at the St. John Church, Bellaire, 11:00am on Saturday, April 30, 2022 with Fr. Dan Heusel as celebrant followed by interment at Belmont County Memorial Cemetery.
