Richard “Dick” Blacker Sr., 78, of Neffs, Ohio, died Tuesday October 19, 2021 at his home.
He was born October 1, 1943 in Neffs, Ohio, the son of the late Harry and Doris (Cordner) Blacker.
Dick was a member of the Coalbrook Presbyterian Church, Neffs, Ohio, was retired from Wheeling Pittsburgh Steel, drove the ambulette service for the Neffs Fire Department, and was a member of the Neffs American Legion Post 77.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by five brothers: Bob Blacker, Dwight Blacker, Lowell Blacker, Elmore Blacker and John Blacker, four sisters: Gerry Gorlitz, Jan Monnolly, Marsha Driscoll, and Carolyn Conaway.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Poch Blacker of Neffs, Ohio, two children: Richard Thomas Blacker Jr., and Carla Funkhouser, one brother, Harry Blacker of Delaware, Ohio, many nieces and nephews, and a grand-puppy, Diezel.
Family will receive friends Sunday October 24, 2021 at the Bauknecht-Altmeyer Funeral Homes and Crematory 441 37th Street, Bellaire, Ohio from 4-8pm, where the funeral service will be held Monday at 11am with Rev. David Demarest officiating. Interment in Belmont Co. Memorial Park Cemetery.

Our sympathies go out to Mary and family. Dick and Mary were wonderful neighbors to Mom and Dad. They helped them in many ways and we are forever grateful. Dick was a very kind and caring person. So sorry.

We are so sorry to hear of your loss. Dick took care of everyone and I always will be grateful for how he came up on Sand Hill with the squad and took my Daddy out to the hospital. Gentle soul….May he RIP
