It is with heavy hearts that we offer our condolences to the Heidelbach family–immediate and extended. Being literally life-long friends with Roy, I will cherish my many childhood memories of “Father Bob”; he was always proudly involved in his sons’ lives–as a father, as a mentor, as a “coach”. Heaven has gained a gem of a person in Mr. Heidelbach–and a pretty darned good golfer, too! I am thankful and blessed to have known Mr. Heidelbach. Through my continuing personal friendship with Roy (which is now over 50 years in duration), Mr. Heidelbach will ALWAYS be alive. So, rest in peace, “Father Bob”. You will be missed.

Aunt Barbara and family – my thoughts and prayers are with you during this sad time. I will always remember Uncle Bob fondly and have wonderful memories of the times we all spent together at grandma’s house and visiting your house in Shadyside when we were kids. I’m so glad that mom, Carrie and I got to visit and share some laughs with you and Uncle Bob when we were up there this past November.
May God’s peace be with you.
Love,
Lori Rempe

Barb and family. No words can express our sorrow . Such a great friend. Bill would tell me stories of the two of them back in the day. I know they will be talking baseball up there. Special guy.

I don’t know even where to begin. Big Bob was a very big part of my life during my teen and young adult life. There was no one like him. He was one tough guy but he had a unique and genuine way to let you know he loved you. He had a wealth of information and you could sit for hours and talk to him. Of course a talk with Big Bob wouldn’t be a talk if there wasn’t some kind of argument mixed in!! They say all great men are humble and there is no doubt Bob was humble. My father always told me he was one of the best baseball players from the Ohio Valley to have not played in the major leagues and we all knew he could play some golf but you would have to literally pull information out of him about either. It just wasn’t his style. In the end through the some time gruff and argumentative personality was a very loving and proud father and grandfather and though he was never one to extol Roy or Rooster’s numerous athletic exploits you could see the pride in his eyes. There is no doubt Heaven added a very unique Angel to it’s population and if there is one thing I will always regret is that I didn’t have the opportunity to visit with him very much in my later years but make no mistake Big Bob I loved you. Save a place for me buddy we still have some arguing to do!!! Rest in Peace my good friend.
