Rose M. “Grandma” Farmer, 90, of Bellaire, OH died Tuesday, March 19, 2019 at Country Club Retirement Campus. She was born May 17, 1928 in Bellaire, a daughter of the late William J. Johnson and Idella Wieneke Johnson-Brannen.
Rose was a retired head teller of the Center Market Branch of WesBanco, Wheeling, and a member of Bellaire Christian Church, and youth group leader of various churches.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by four brothers, Roy, Howard, Bill and Rev. Paul Johnson.
Surviving are her children, Deborah Holmes of Moundsville, WV., Robert (Claudia) Farmer of Morristown, OH., Dan (Chris) Farmer of Key Ridge; two sisters, Joyce (Francis) Mellott of Shadyside, OH and Elizabeth (Bob) Stillion of Arcadia, FL; three grandchildren, Sarah (Brad) Waldsmith, Rebecca (Harry) Dutton and Anthony (Shayna) Holmes; five great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
A memorial gathering will be held 1 pm until time of funeral service at 3 pm, Saturday, March 30, 2019 at Bauknecht-Altmeyer Funeral Homes & Crematory 441 37th Street Bellaire, OH with Pastor Jerry Garloch officiating. Burial in Greenwood Cemetery, Bellaire at the convenience of the family.

Rose and I could not have been closer. She treated me as if I were her own daughter. I enjoyed the vacations we spent with her and will always remember those times we shared.
