Sally Ann Bickmeier, 90, of Bellaire, OH died Monday, July 20, 2020 at Wheeling Hospital. She was born April 30, 1930 in Shadyside, OH a daughter of the late Eugene and Arlie Shipman Boston.

Sally graduated from Shadyside High School and worked as the secretary of the Bellaire Eagles for over 40 years. She held numerous offices in the district and state Eagles Auxiliary and was inducted into the Ohio State Eagles Auxiliary Hall of Fame for her many years of service to the organization. Also, a member of Shadyside Legion and Bellaire VFW.

She had a positive, cheerful personality with a good sense of humor. She made friends easily and greeted friends, old and new, with a sense of fellowship that made them glad to be acquainted with her. She had a great memory, especially when it involved stories of her family’s past exploits, in particular the humorous events they experienced. She was well acquainted with the genealogy of her family and was a great resource for any research in those matters.

She was a hard worker, meticulous and dedicated to any task that was assigned to her. She took pride in doing a good job and required minimal supervision because she was self-motivated and dedicated to finish her work. She was generous and supportive of her family, always loving and caring in her relationships.

Sally was a voracious reader and kept the Bellaire Library busy reserving the latest best sellers, especially mystery novels and detective stories. She loved to work crossword puzzles and enjoyed bowling and participated well into her older years. She was an avid card player, watched baseball and loved the Indians and Reds.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Alfred Bickmeier in 2009; two brothers, Bill and Jack Boston; a sister, Evelyn Kreiter.

Surviving are her son, State Rep. Jack Cera and his wife Becky of Bellaire; two granddaughters, Jaclyn (Brent) Yocum and Bethany Cera; a great-granddaughter, Scarlett; Nephews and nieces, William (Linda) Kreiter, Jeff (Margee) Kreiter, Bob (Susan) Kreiter, Tom (Karen) Boston, Bill (Dorothy) Boston and Janet Galiffa.

Friends will be received on Friday from 10 am until time of service at 12 pm at Bauknecht-Altmeyer Funeral Homes & Crematory 441 37th Street Bellaire, OH with services at 12 pm with Pastor James Lish officiating. Burial will follow in Holly Memorial Gardens.

Aunt Sally is deeply missed and a big part of my life is gone. Sally never failed to take care of me from my earliest memories. She was always fun to be with and always had a great time being with her and Evelyn and Jack when we were growing up. Miss you forever.
