Sharlet Ann Long 91, of Shadyside, Ohio died Saturday December 8, 2018 at Forest Hills Retirement Campus.
She was born September 28, 1927 a daughter of the late Gilbert and Martha (Fox) Doty in Pipe Creek, Ohio.
Sharlet worked for Belmont Savings (Formerly Belmont Federal Bank) in the savings department.
She was a member of the Lincoln Avenue United Methodist Church in Shadyside, Ohio and was a former Director of the Food Pantry.
Sharlet was married to Robert Long who made it a point to marry her on her birthday in 1980 and they spent many wonderful years together.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a brother Thurman Doty, a sister Wilda Doty, three of her children, David, Clark and Tracy Adams and her nephew Zane Doty.
She is survived by her son Michael (Karen) Adams of Duncanville, TX, two step-daughters Kathy (Steve) Bruno of Cleveland, TN and Karen (Paul) Volan of Martins Ferry, OH as well as a step-son Bob Long of Cleveland, TN and two daughters-in-law, Sandra Adams of Shadyside, OH and Lynette Adams of Bellaire, OH.
In addition she is survived by four grandchildren, Matt, Brian, Jonathan and Nathaniel Adams, several step-grandchildren and a niece Martha Richardson.
Family and friends will be received at the Bauknecht-Altmeyer Funeral Homes – 3900 Central Ave, Shadyside, Ohio 43947 on Tuesday December 11, 2018 from 10 am until time of service at 12 pm with Rev.Seth Filburn officiating.
Burial will follow at Holly Memorial Gardens in Pleasant Grove, Ohio.

Dear Michael, Karen and family. I was saddened to read of Sharlet’s passing. She was a wonderful, loving lady who will be missed by many.

Sharlet was my neighbor and friend for 16 years. She always loved talking about my kids and her grandchildren. I was blessed to have visited her 3 times last week. My condolences to the entire family. She had a kind heart, was very vibrant and will be missed by many.
I am so sorry for loss of your mom Mike, she was a wonderful and I loved talking to her, she was always happy to see me and I her, we always had good conversations.
