Meek, Shelby J., 72, of Bellaire, OH returned to her heavenly home on January 20, 2016 after a valiant battle with a long illness. Her devotion to her family and her firm belief in God supported her in her struggle and ultimately gave her peace.
She was born April 3, 1943 in Bellaire, Ohio a daughter of the late Charles R. and Betty K. Yeager Yost.
She was a member of the Bellaire Christian Church, loved nature and all animals.
Preceding her in death was her husband, William David Meek Sr. in 2002, a brother, James M. Yost.
Surviving is a son, William David (Teresa) Meek Jr. of Bellaire, OH, two sisters, Kitty (Rick) Simpson of Bethlehem, WV, and Martha (George Jacobs) Schultz of Wheeling, WV, special friend, David R. Taylor of Bellaire, OH, four grandchildren; Xavier (Erin McMillan) Meek, Tanner Meek, Benjamin (Maxine) McElroy and Haley Lovell all of Bellaire, OH, six great grandchildren; Dawson, Carl, Elaina, Aidyn, Seth and Haylana several nieces and nephews.
Shelby was blessed with a large and loving family. She is dearly missed by her loved ones, who take comfort in the fact that she is at peace with her creator.
Family and friends will be received Sunday from 1-7pm at the Bauknecht-Altmeyer Funeral Homes and Crematory, 441 37th Street Bellaire OH, where funeral services will be held at 11am Monday with Rick Simpson officiating.
Burial follows in Mt. Zion Cemetery, Bellaire, Ohio.

I am so sorry about Shelby passing
She was one of the nicest and sweetest people that I have ever known
I know that she will be missed by all who knew her
well always remember my cousin as the sweet person she was.
Shelby was a very sweet person and a loving daughter who took good care of her parents.
