I am sorry that I did not get to see Syd in too many of the passing years, but she has lived in my heart for all of them. I first met her when I was about ten. Years later, my children were preschool students of hers in Miss Syd’s early days. Then I worked there for her a few years before I finished my teaching degree and went on to public schools. All through those years I found Syd to have strong, sincere convictions in the raising and education of children. But mostly, I admired her because she was such a nurturing person to her students AND the adults in her circle. She was a positive influence in my life and I’m sure many others as well.
Erich &Paul, Please accept our deepest sympathy in the great loss of your mother. We are very sorry we were unable to attend her memorial services as we have so many fond memories of her. We shared many great times with her and because of her we had the opportunity to visit your father’s hometown in Germany. We went on several vacations and Friday nights were our eating out ventures where we laughed and reminisced about family where she held a special place in her heart for both of you. She was very proud of your accomplishments. We will sorely miss her
Paul, Erich and families, We share in your loss of your mother. She was a special person and has a special place in everyone’s heart that knew her. The neighborhood will not be the same. She was such a kind, caring soul and so loved her family. She was very proud of all of you. We share your grief, and I will miss our visits over the phone. I am sorry, but we will not be attending her services, but she will remain in my prayers.
Erich and Paul, So sorry about your mom. You are in our thoughts and prayers.
Syd was a very special lady and will be missed by the neighbors surrounding her. She and Erich were always willing to help anyone and were loved by all who knew them. My mother and she were good friends for many years and I would bring her goodies from Amish country as she loved her sweet treats! We will miss her!
Erich & Paul
