Thomas C Totterdale, 77, of Fort Myers FL, formerly of St. Clairsville, OH, passed away on April 13, 2017. Tom was born on July 2, 1939 in Martins Ferry, OH. At 19 he married the love of his life Alice Taylor. They have celebrated 58 years of marriage. Tom is preceded in death by his infant daughter Cheryl Lynn Totterdale, mother Ruth Taylor and father Charles Totterdale. He is survived by his beloved wife Alice; his three sons Thomas Mathew Totterdale(Jenny), Bruce Totterdale(Raelene), Steven Totterdale(Elizabeth) and seven grandchildren: Amanda Jensen(David), Bryan, Keith, Allison, Brittany, Sarah and Taylor Totterdale. He is also survived by his brother Ron Totterdale (Sue); in-laws Robert Taylor (Gloria), Ann Dobie (George), Jean Taylor, close friend Sandy Lovejoy (John) and the Street/Kern family. Thomas also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, cousins and countless friends.
Tom worked as a union plumber at local 83 in Wheeling, West Virginia. He retired from General Motors after seventeen years of service. His incomparable work ethic, cautious ways and wise advice will always be cherished.
Dad (aka Pappy) was an avid huntsman and sports fan. He was loved by everyone he met and will be dearly missed by all who knew him. He will be remembered for his charismatic charm, unmistakable laughter and sense of humor. He will forever be revered for his profound love and dedication to his family. We have all been blessed to have Tom Totterdale in our lives. He instilled joy in everyone he met and left the world a better place because he was in it.
Friends will be received on Saturday from 11 am until time of funeral service at 12 noon at Beck-Altmeyer Funeral Home & Crematory 204 West Main Street St. Clairsville, Ohio with Rev. Laurie Armstrong officiating. Burial will follow in Union Cemetery, St. Clairsville.
