Thomas Franklin Poe, 65 of Neffs, Ohio died Friday, February 19, 2016.  He was born July 22, 1950 in Wheeling, West Virginia a son of the late Ernest F. and Betty Jane Talbott Poe.

Tom was President and CEO of the Belmont Savings Bank, a member of the Neffs United Methodist Church, Board of Directors of the Belmont Savings Bank and the American Legion Post 52. He has a Bachelor’s Degree in General Studies and a Master’s Degree in Liberal Studies both from  Ohio University. He was a lifetime member of the Bellaire High School Alumni Association, receiving the association’s Achievement award in 2001 and the Outstanding Alumnus Award in 2012. Tom was Past Master of Bridgeport Lodge 181 F & AM and received the Knight of the York Cross Honor. Tom was a graduate of Bellaire High School, Class of 1968 and a US Army veteran of the Vietnam Conflict.

Surviving are his wife, Bonnie T. Cornett Poe, whom he married on May 14, 1977, four children, Vanessa Poe of Los Angeles, California, Thomas Franklin (Dawn Clayton) Poe of Lincoln, California, Troy Poe of Los Angeles, California and Todd (Holly Brehm) Poe of Bellaire, Ohio and his twin brother, John (Jann) Poe of Shadyside, Ohio. Also two grandchildren, Ava Poe and Harper Poe and several nieces and nephews.

Family and friends will be received at the Bauknecht-Altmeyer Funeral Homes & Crematory 441 37th Street Bellaire, Ohio on Tuesday from 1 to 8 pm and Wednesday from 10 am until time of services at 11 am with Pastor Larry Helms officiating. Interment in the Union Cemetery in St. Clairsville, Ohio with Military Honors conducted by the Belmont County Veterans Association.

Masonic services will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday evening at 7 pm.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Charity of the donor’s choice.
