William C. “Bill” Blair, 92 of St.Clairsville, OH died Saturday January 23, 2016 at Belmont Manor Nursing Home St. Clairsville.
He was born August 6, 1923 at Wheeling, WV a son of the late Ruel and Esther Steinman Blair.
Bill was a retired Lines Supervisor for Ohio Edison. and WWII US Army Paratrooper for the 17th Airborne 681st/ Battery B where he earned EAME Ribbon with three Bronze Stars.
As a member of a family of 16, Bill was preceded in death by two brothers Robert and Jim Blair and four sisters Carol Paglialunga, Evelyn Pickenpaugh, Catherine Paludniak and Marcia Patterson
Surviving is his wife Marie Vincek Blair, his son William (Nancy) Blair Princeton Junction, NJ,
Three granddaughters Emma, Holly and Anna, his brothers Raymond (Betty) Blair, Ralph (Rita) Blair, John Blair, Gene (Rose Marie) Blair, Ben (Anne) Blair and Donald (Charlotte) Blair, his sisters Judith (Walter) Dombroski, Edna Coward, and Annette Budovski, and his sister in law Rose Blair several nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received 4- 7 pm Wednesday at the Beck-Altmeyer Funeral Home and Crematory St. Clairsville where funeral services will be held Thursday at 2:00 pm with Rev. Jerry Wenger officiating. Military Burial Rites will be provided by the Belmont County Veterans Association will following the service.
