William Nelson Weekley, 70, of St. Clairsville, Ohio died Thursday, February 16, 2017, at Wheeling Hospital surrounded by his family.
He was born May 23, 1946, a son of the late Charles “Duke” and Edna (Newell) Weekley in Bellaire, Ohio.
William served in the Army during the Vietnam War and worked for the Martins Ferry Police Department for 25 years.
He was an avid outdoorsman.
William was preceded in death by his parents, a sister Betty Johnson, as well as two brothers, Charles and Edward Weekley.
He is survived by his loving wife of 48 years,Catherine (Lyden) Weekley and one son, Dennis and wife Rashal Weekley of Hilliard, OH and two daughters, Karen and husband Christopher Heiby of Belleville, IL, and Amy and husband Chris Adams of Jacobsburg, OH.
In addition he is survived by a brother, Robert J. Weekley of Bellaire, OH, three grandchildren, Luke Heiby, Andrew Seevers and Ashley Seevers, as well as five great-grandchildren.
A private memorial service will be held at the convenience of the family.
Arrangements by the Bauknecht-Altmeyer Funeral Homes & Crematory 441, 37th street, Bellaire, Ohio 43906.
The Martins Ferry Police Department as well as the Bellaire VFW shall conduct services in honor of William.
